Nice to Meet You, I'm Chris!

Academic Background

I work as an archaeologist commercially in Kent alongside teaching online & speaking at workshops, all the while focusing on my Masters in Egyptology & Heritage in the Middle East. I am focused predominantly on the Theurgy of Iamblichus, Hermetism & sources of ancient ritual practice primarily in Graeco Roman Egypt. My bachelors was in archaeology, where I focused on cultic architecture & iconography in the Early Bronze Age Southern Levant, particularly at sites such as Megiddo, Ein Gedi & in the Jezreel Valley. I was particularly interested in the Egyptianising influence exerted on the Southern Levant during the Early Bronze Age.

Thesis title: Indigenous Cultic Presence in the Early Bronze Age Southern Levant: An Examination of Cylinder Seal Impressions From Tel Megiddo & Ghassulian Basalt Iconography

Supervisor: Dr Kathrine Wright, Honorary Associate Professor of Near Eastern Archaeology (UCL)

Currently my research is focused on Hieratic, Demotic & Sebayt Literature in Dynastic & Graeco Roman Egypt. Particularly, I am interested in the development of Hermetic ideas and their presence in Demotic ritual manuals and the extent to which we can see connections with broader native Egyptian intellectual traditions.

Personal & Business Background

Part of my interest in esotericism has come from my upbringing & experiences in childhood. Growing up in a small village in Kent, I was always surrounded by folklore & cultural tradition.  I have been immersed in British folklore for as long as I can remember.

In 2022 I certified as a Coach with Mindvalley, for both personal counselling & business consultancy, and since then have been working with people to create philosophy as a Way of Life & Rite of Rebirth.

I frequently work with authors, publishing companies and researchers to help build their  systems & strategy as well as doing personal coaching rooted in Platonism & Stoicism.
